Last week [15 March] the team got together at Seaton Community hub to learn how to spot and support potential mental health issues amongst clients.

The one-day course helps learners to gain valuable experience and insight in understanding the signs of mental health conditions and covers the effects drugs and alcohol can have on such conditions.

As well as learning how to confidently have open conversations with their clients, they also received training on assisting individuals who may have undergone adverse childhood experiences – which can contribute to ongoing mental health conditions later in life.

The training was delivered by Scottish charity MindsChange and at the end of the workshop, they received an SCQF level 5 certification.

Funding for this course was provided by the Scottish Government in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
